MALIBU — The Malibu Chapter of National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Malibu United Methodist Church will present “The Life and Times of June Aochi Berk” on Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at the church, 30128 Morning View Dr. in Malibu.
From her days as a child performer of traditional Japanese dance in the late 1930s to her involvement today in numerous Japanese American organizations, Berk has been a community educator and a goodwill ambassador of the Japanese American experieince.

In a conversation with Susan H. Kamei, author of “When Can We Go Back to America? Voices of Japanese American Incarceration During World War II” and USC adjunct professor of history, Berk will highlight the challenges of her wartime incarceration, her post-war professional experiences and civic service, and the causes that are important to her today.
A home-made comfort food lunch will be served after the presentation.
The presentation, lunch and parking are free and open to all.
