The BOOdo Comedy Show will be presented on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at Terasaki Budokan, 249 S. Los Angeles St. in Little Tokyo.
Hosted by Derek Mio, the Halloween outdoor comedy show will feature a hilarious lineup including Leslie Liao, Fumi Abe, Andrew Orolfo, Kevyn Fong, and surprise guests. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, so get there early and secure your seats. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. After party at Far Bar to follow. Don’t forget your costumes!

Derek Miois a fourth-generation Japanese American actor and comedian from Huntington Beach descended from Terminal Island and Manzanar. He was the lead in AMC’s “The Terror: Infamy” and is also known for his appearances on the TV shows
“Greek,” “Medal of Honor,” and “Spooked” as well as the films “Day of Independence,” “G.B.F.” and “The Emoji Movie.” He has performed standup comedy at various venues including The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory, and Hollywood and Brea Improvs.
Leslie Liaois a stand-up comedian, actress, and writer. Audiences around the world have been drawn to her relatable, introspective, and matter-of-fact style of humor which, is often anchored around her experiences as a single Chinese American woman living in Los Angeles. She was recently selected to be a New Face of Comedy at Montreal’s prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival 2023, and her debut set on Don’t Tell Comedy platforms, “Fixing Straight Men,” debuted boldly on YouTube with clips from her set going viral on Instagram and TikTok.
She has toured with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Fortune Feimster, and can often be seen in Los Angeles gracing the stages of The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, Laugh Factory, Flappers, and many more.
Fumi Abeis a Japanese American stand-up comedian based in New York City. His comedy has been featured on MTV, Vulture, and Comedy Central. He recently opened for Ronny Chieng from “The Daily Show” at Carolines on Broadway and the Comedy Cellar. He was a semi-finalist in the Stand-Up NBC competition in 2017 and 2019. He has performed at various comedy festivals across the country such as Devil Cup Comedy Competition (placed second), Laughing Devil Comedy Competition (placed third), Brooklyn Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival, Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, HBO Showcase at Women in Comedy Festival, and the Audible.com Fresh Voices Showcase at SF Sketchfest.
Abe currently produces and hosts a comedy podcast titled “Asian, Not Asian,” which was most recently included in Vulture’s Comedy Podcast Roundup as well as The AV Club’s Podcast series highlights. You can catch him hosting his monthly stand-up show “Hack City Comedy” at Canal Street Market in SoHo every 3rd Wednesday.
Andrew Orolfo, a Filipino American, has been named one of the country’s “top knot” comedians by… don’t even ask, just go with it. A JFL New Face 2022 and established staple in San Francisco comedy, he has been featured in the High Plains Comedy Festival, Comedy Central Clusterfest and Netflix Is a Joke Fest. He can be heard on Sirius XM Radio and has been seen on Comedy Central, “The Late Late Show with James Corden” as well as “Jo Koy: In His Elements” on Netflix.
Kevyn Fong, aka @level4alpha, is a content creator, stand-up comedian, and writer. His original content so far has amassed over 200 million views combined across all platforms and focuses on the comedic intersections of the Asian American and LGBTQIA+ experience.
