IRVINE — Tomo no Kai at UC Irvine will present a Day of Remembrance program on Sunday, Feb. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. at UCI Student Center, Doheny Beach Room, on campus.

Day of Remembrance is observed on or around Feb. 19, the date in 1942 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which led to the mass incarceration of Japanese Americans.

The theme is “Legacy of the Camps: What They Lost.” Speakers are Alan Takashi Riley, Kizuna program coordinator, and Soji Kashiwagi, Grateful Crane Ensemble executive director and playwright.

The program will also include food and a taiko performance.
